COVID-19 Safe Return to Play

Hockey has now moved to Step 5 of the England Hockey (EH) Return to Play Guidance.  ​Local and further afield competitive activity has resumed.  

Since so much remains beyond our control, please keep an eye for updates on this page. 

Participation in Hockey may change with little or no notice and we will keep you updated with developments here on this webpage.

If you are in any doubt, please contact our club's ​COVID officer in the first instance.

We all have an individual responsibility to be aware of the conditions required and comply by them to participate in hockey safely.

No-one can participate without completing a one time EH Participation Agreement - please ensure that you have completed this before attending your first session.

Due to restrictions with COVID-19, our venue and our ability as a small club to manage safe protocol for all:
  • We will only be allowing a maximum of 15 per team to attend the pitch (this includes players AND support staff on match days).  Home and opposition teams and their respective pitch side staff to follow the England Hockey COVID Reporting Mechanism (spectators attendence - please see below)
  • There will be no changing facilities available. 
  • Toilets are available for those in need - one in, one out - please do not use the toilets as changing rooms.
  • Cars should be parked in the bottom small car park NOT the main car park for training and fixtures.
  • We are able to allow spectators at our venue for home fixtures only - but only in groups of 6 spectators (and who need to maintain current social distancing between one another (unless same household/support bubble) and socially distanced from other groups).  All spectators need to check in with the QR code on the NHS App please.
  • Please do not attend the venue if you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms and keep washing those hands and keeping a distance :)

Please kindly respect our procedures as we endeavour to keep one another safe.  We do hope that we can open up facilities more as restrictions are reduced further.

Players

• Must sign the online/one time England Hockey Participation Agreement before first attendance;
• Follow the guidelines stated by England Hockey (quick guide in the infographic above) and our additional safety protocols found in Safe Play & Spectating Page.

Umpires

• Must sign the online/one-time England Hockey Participation Agreement before first attendance;
• Follow the guidelines stated by England Hockey (quick guide in the infographic above) and our additional safety protocol above.
• Arrive at the venue changed, ready to umpire and maintain your social distancing during your pre-match chat;
• 2-minute suspension (green card) to be issued to any player or participant caught spitting or nose blowing without a handkerchief/tissue.

Spectators

• We are pleased to announce that we can accommodate spectators at our venue for home fixtures only.
